New Sizzle Reel Footage For AMC's 'The Walking Dead'
It's no secret: we're seriously anticipating AMC's new show The Walking Dead, based on Robert Kirkman's comic series of the same name. Frank Darabont directed the pilot and is exec producer of the series, and the first trailer for the series looks fantastic.
Now there's a sizzle reel for the show which has interview clips, behind the scenes footage and some new clips from the show.
Revisit the trailer for the series if you'd like, but this clip should give you everything you need if you haven't yet seen any footage. Check out the scope of some of those city scenes! I understand the fact that a lot of people have zombie fatigue, but this show looks like it has been assembled with such attention to craft and detail that any weary attitude towards the concept is swept away. For me, at least.
If you're hungry for more and live in or around New York, AMC will have the series at the upcoming New York Comic Con, and will show the first full scenes from the pilot. Check out the press release for that after the video embed.
The Walking Dead will premiere on Halloween on AMC. It stars Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually), Jon Bernthal (The Pacific), Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), Laurie Holden (The Mist), and Emma Bell (Law & Order) and follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home after a zombie apocalypse.

NEW YORK, NY – September 24, 2010– During New York Comic Con, AMC will premiere the first full scenes from the network's highly anticipated series, "The Walking Dead." In addition to the exclusive preview, the stars and producers of the drama, based on the comic book written byRobert Kirkman, will be present for a panel scheduled for Sunday, October 10 at 2:15pm in the IGN Theater. The event will include series stars Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually), Jon Bernthal("The Pacific"), Sarah Wayne Callies ("Prison Break"), Laurie Holden (The Mist), and Steven Yeun ("The Big Bang Theory"). Joining the cast are writer, director, executive producer and three-time Academy Award nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) and executive producers, Robert Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens,Armageddon). "The Walking Dead" will premiere on Halloween at 10pm EST on AMC.
During the 90-minute event, moderator Eric Moro of IGN.com will lead panelists in a discussion about their experience shooting the "The Walking Dead," and the process of bringing Kirkman's comic book to life on the small screen, among other topics. The panel will be followed by a Q&A session with attendees.
