Joel McHale Joins 'Spy Kids: All The Time In The World'

Briefly: Forget about the idea of Robert Rodriguez directing Deadpool — between Ryan Reynolds' schedule and the fact that Rodriguez has Spy Kids 4 on the docket, things aren't likely to line up for now. (And, after Machete, I'm glad.) So expect to hear a lot of casting news about Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in the coming weeks. We've already had Jessica Alba join, and now Community's Joel McHale is on board, as "a spy-hunting reporter married to Alba's character, the stepmother to his kids."

Alba plays a reactivated former spy, and there will be two new Spy Kids, with the originals (Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega) expected to appear in at least a cameo. Previous reports have the new kids pegged as Rebecca and Cecil. "Rebecca's not exactly supportive of her father's new partner, and utilizes her ingenious skills as a prankster to thwart her stepmother every step of the way. Cecil's a little less hard on Jessica, frequently asking his sis to cut her a break. Ultimately, Jessica and Rebecca have to put their differences aside when they're both called up for active-duty."
