Movie Trailer: Doug Liman's Fair Game
Summit Entertainment have released the movie trailer for Doug Liman's political drama Fair Game. The film stars Naomi Watts as real-life undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame and Sean Penn as her husband Joe Wilson. We all know the story which captured the news headlines, but the movie tells the tale from a more personal perspective. I had a chance to screen this film at the Cannes Film Festival and very much enjoyed it. I think a lot of people will be surprised at just how uninteresting the life of an undercover CIA operative really is, definitely nothing like it has been portrayed in most of the films over the years. But the political story that results from Plame's identity leak is far more interesting and compelling.

Plot Synopsis:
A suspense-filled glimpse into the dark corridors of political power, FAIR GAME is a riveting action-thriller based on the autobiography of real-life undercover CIA operative VALERIE PLAME (Naomi Watts), whose career was destroyed and marriage strained to its limits when her covert identity was exposed by a politically motivated press leak. As a covert officer in the CIA's Counter-Proliferation Division, Valerie leads an investigation into the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Valerie's husband, diplomat JOE WILSON (Sean Penn), is drawn into the investigation to substantiate an alleged sale of enriched uranium from Niger. But when the administration ignores his findings and uses the issue to support the call to war, Joe writes a New York Times editorial outlining his conclusions and ignites a firestorm of controversy.
Fair Game will hit theaters on Friday, November 5th, 2010 in limited release.
