Rolling Roadshow's Jackie Brown Screening Moves To LAX

A couple weeks back, we posted the schedule for the Alamo Drafthouse's 2010 Rolling Road Show. The traveling movie screening series just one of the many reasons the Alamo Drafthouse is the greatest movie theater on the planet. For those who don't know, the Drafthouse travels around the United States to present one-time-only screenings of classic films using a portable movie theater which they set-up in famous locations from the films. This year's line-up includes Jackie Brown, Dirty Harry, There Will Be Blood, Convoy, The Blues Brothers, Robocop, Rocky I-III, On The Waterfront, and The Godfather Part II. Earlier this week we posted about Olly Moss' awesome posters for the film series.

The Drafthouse has just informed us of a big location change for their first event, Jackie Brown in Los Angeles this Friday. Find out the details after the jump.

From the Alamo Drafthouse:

We have made a location switch for the Rolling Roadshow screening of JACKIE BROWN on Friday, August 6 at 8:00 PM.  Due to noise ordinance restrictions The City of Torrance would not allow the screening to take place at the Del Amo Fashion Mall.  The Rolling Roadshow made every effort to make this happen within the limits set forth, but in the end our goal is to provide the optimal presentation experience. But the show will go on!  And fortunately Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece offers a wealth of location options in southern Los Angeles.  The Rolling Roadshow screening of JACKIE BROWN will take place in the shadow of LAX, where Pam Grier's flight attendant gets busted by the ATF, kick-starting the high stakes game of double-cross and intrigue.

Join us in the grassy rear lawn on the grounds of THE PROUD BIRD overlooking LAX airport.  Flanked by vintage airplanes and with a view of the landing strip, this new location is the perfect spot for Tarantino's airline-centric pot-boiler.   Seating is not provided, so please bring your blankets or camping chairs to this event. Winners will also be drawn at random from the crowd to join us at the Doolittle Room of THE PROUD BIRD for a VIP after-party.

Here is the location information:

Friday, August 6 @ 8:00 PM

11022 Aviation Boulevard

Los Angeles, CA 90045

Wish I could be there myself, but I have business to attend to in New Orleans. I am hoping to make the There Will Be Blood screening on Sunday night in Bakersfield however.
