Two New Iron Man 2 TV Spots Show Brief Glimpses Of Action

The release of Iron Man 2 is barely a month away, and Marvel and Paramount have been careful not to show off too much of the film in advance of the May 7 opening. While we've seen a couple of trailers and TV spots, we still haven't seen much of Mickey Rourke's Whiplash character, or Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow.

Now a couple of international TV spots are giving very brief glimpses of both those characters, for those who can't wait just four more weeks to see it all.

The first of these spots shows the only direct combat contact between Whiplash and Iron Man we've seen so far. Amounts to about one second of footage, but it'll do for now. I like the look of that moment a lot; leads me to wonder what Jon Favreau & Co have really cooked up, effects-wise, for Whiplash.

Then there's a bit of dialogue from Black Widow, sans any Russian accent. Make of that what you will. We also get a bit more Tony Stark / Nick Fury interaction, and that promise of a team in the second TV spot. Nice little pointer towards The Avengers there.

And, yes, the film opens earlier in some international markets, hence the April date on the trailers.

And, as a bonus, here's a third spot that we never posted. There's very little here that isn't in other spots, but you will get another line from Johansson, and Sam Jackson's great "I'm going to have to ask you to exit the donut" line that kicked off some of the footage at Comic Con last year. Finally, if you want to see an extended clip with fairly non-revealing footage of the Stark Expo seen in almost all the clips, check out Apple's Iron Man 2 trailer page.
