Is Edgar Wright Directing A Third Tintin Movie?

This is how rumors start. Recently Internet Movie Database has made some curious updates to writer/director Edgar Wright's profile. Wright is now listed as being "in talks" to direct the third film in the Tintin series.

Wright co-wrote two drafts of the screenplay Steven Spielberg's performance capture 3D adaptation of The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. Also, Wright regulars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost play Thompson and Thompson in the films, which is just another degree of connection.  Spielberg has always said that him and Peter Jackson would direct one film each, and that the third film would be helmed by both of them together, or more likely a hired filmmaker. Could that filmmaker be Edgar Wright?

IMDb is notorious for inaccurate or out-of-date information. The  site runs mainly on reader submissions, much like wikipedia, but without a strong community policing the submissions. That said, tips on the site have come to pass, and agents/publicists even submit information to the website, as it is used as a quick resource in the industry.

But why post rumors when we could just go to the source. I contacted Edgar, who is currently hard at work on the big screen adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and asked if he was in talks to helm a third Tintin movie. He agreed to comment on the record with the following:

"Not that I know of. But hey, rumors are fun"

And with that response, I'm still not sure :)
