Security Guard Allegedly Stabs Teenage My Bloody Valentine Moviegoer
What is it about movie theaters that is apparently making them sites for violence recently? Fox is reporting that after a screening of My Bloody Valentine this weekend in Valley Stream, NY, security guard Ricardo Singh tried to get people to exit the theater, but a 16-year old wanted to stay inside to wait for his ride. Singh apparently didn't want any of that, and after an argument ensued between the two, Singh stabbed the teenager in the stomach. It sounds like the kid is fine, although he required six stitches. Singh has been arrested and charged with assault.
Despite its gimmicky use of 3D, My Bloody Valentine has actually gotten fairly positive reviews, with critics such as Devin Faraci from CHUD claiming that the film "takes what's worked before, mixes them together well, applies some 3D and brings the results to you in a well-made, well-paced, well-done way." I spoke with a /Filmcast listener last night who told me that there's a 3D sex scene in the movie, that a midget gets used as a human shield and impaled, and that "if that sounds interesting to you, you should go see this movie!" But if any of you decide to go, please stay safe, as always.
Discuss: Did anybody see My Bloody Valentine? If so, what did you think? And what was the audience's reaction?
