According to the Liverpool Daily Post Jim Marquand has been asked by George Lucas to direct episodes of the upcoming Star Wars live action television series. Jim's father Richard Marquand directed Return of the Jedi.

Set between the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the series will focus on the expanded universe and explore the life minor characters from the Star Wars galaxy. The project was proposed with a plan for 100 $1 million one hour-long episodes, although producer Rick McCallum explained in July 2007 that the series could run up to 400 episodes. Lucas is writing and producing the first season, which is currently set to debut in 2009.
