Andy Samberg's Hot Rod Movie Trailer
I refuse to watch Saturday Night Live. I'm one of the many that believe that SNL jumped the shark long ago. And the only reason to watch is Andy Samberg's digital shorts (Chronicles of Narnia, Natalie Portman rap). But those always find there way online, so what's the point?
Andy Samberg's first film hits theaters this summer. We have the teaser movie trailer after the jump.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like he was creatively involved writing wise (I could be wrong). And I'm pretty sure that Samberg's genius (not comic acting skills) is what makes his SNL digital shorts so funny. Director Akiva Schaffer has made a couple music videos and shot the aforementioned digital shorts on SNL. This is his feature film debut. The good news is that screenwriter Pam Brady has served as a creative consultant and writer on South Park, Team America, and the South Park movie. So chances are she has some sense of comedy.

Hot Rod follows Self-proclaimed stuntman Rod Kimble (Samberg), who is preparing for the jump of his life. Rod plans to clear fifteen buses in an attempt to raise money for his abusive stepfather Frank Powell's life-saving heart operation. He'll land the jump, get Frank better, and then fight him, hard. The film also stars Isla Fisher, Jorma Taccone, Bill Hader, with Sissy Spacek and Ian McShane.Hot Rod hits theaters on August 3rd 2007.
