Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix In IMAX 3D

We reported back in October of 2006 that Warner Bros was considering a possible IMAX 3D up-conversion for Harry Potter. Well it looks like we were partially right. Select scenes from the upcoming film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be digitally converted into the IMAX 3D release. Some people had a problem with the Superman Returns 3D release because they felt annoyed at the gimmicky "Put the glasses on, take the glasses off". Some believed that it interrupted the viewing experience. Not me, I loved it. Anyway, the new Harry Potter film is going to be handling the whole deal a little differently. Instead of 3D segments distributed throughout the film, Warner Bros has instead decided to transform  approximately 20 minutes at the end of the film.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be released in IMAX® theatres and conventional theatres on July 13, 2007.
