Robert Downey Jr. and Jay Baruchel have signed on to star in the Ben Stiller-helmed comedy Tropic Thunder for DreamWorks. The Stiller, Justin Theroux and Etan Cohen penned screenplay is about a big-budget war movie gone wrong. I wonder if this means Tom Cruise is out?
A new Spider-Man 3 clip will be shown on the March 5th episode of Heroes.
National Treasure 2 starts filming next week.
A new online poll shows that over 85% of people have cried at the movies. Wow, and I thought I was the only one. Did I just write that for the while world to read? Uh-oh.
Oliver Stone says "Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut" DVD is the "richest and fullest version" of his 2004 film and promises this third cut is the last. Someone should tell Stone that's three cuts too many. Edward Platt played the character in the original 1965 TV series.
Apparently only 300 people voted on the Academy Award for documentary. This means that Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth could have won the Oscar with as little as 61 votes. And what's even sadder, the Academy typically has only 200 documentary ballots. Change needs to happen. More people need to see these films and vote. The Academy should require certain groups to watch and vote on the docs as a membership requirement. This makes me angry. I wonder how many people voted on the Foreign Best Picture award. Anyone know?
