New 'The Avengers' Featurette And Stills

We're just more than a month away from the release of Joss Whedon's The Avengers, from Marvel Studios. We've seen some footage that highlights the film's bad guys and action, but most of the promo shots so far have been images of one or two characters standing, looking heroic and/or stoic.

We've got a new batch of images in a similar vein today, showing off the movie's large cast, featuring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson.

But we've also got another featurette on the making of the film, as well as some trading cards of dubious origin.

The featurette comes from Norton, and serves as an overview of the assembly of the Avengers, starting with the creation of Iron Man.

The full set of new stills is below, via MovieZine. There are a couple of moody shots in there that are better than some of the other static stills we've seen.

Finally, from a tumblr called mmmmmonster comes a set of Avengers trading cards, also seen in the gallery above. Most of these use images we've seen, and I'm not certain that they're official. But there is one image in there I think we haven't seen yet, of a frozen Captain America.

The Avengers opens on May 4.
