Dwayne Johnson hasn’t appeared in a movie since last year’s Jumanji: The Next Level. That’s through no fault of his own, of course – the pandemic has pushed back a couple of his projects which, ideally, would have been released by now. But that means that we’ve gone many months without seeing a new Rock vehicle, and diehard fans are probably wondering when they’ll be able to see his next project.
Today, Johnson shared a new pitch video for his upcoming NBC series Young Rock, which is based on three different time periods in his own early life. During NBC’s Television Critics Association presentation, the network announced Dwayne Johnson will executive produce and star in Young Rock. Executive produced by Nanatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang, the project has been given a straight-to-series order and will follow the school years of Dwayne Johnson and even his early wrestling career.
