Netflix has taken a different approach to casting a key role in its live-action Resident Evil series. Whereas the villainous character of Albert Wesker, the Big Bad of the entire Resident Evil franchise, has previously been portrayed as a blonde white guy, showrunner Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) has opted to switch things up by casting Lance Reddick (John Wick, The Wire) in that significant role. Godzilla vs. Kong clocks in at a blissfully brief 113 minutes – but it’s pretty clear the movie could’ve been longer. For one thing, previously announced cast members like Zhang Ziyi and Jessica Henwick don’t even appear in the film. And then there’s Lance Reddick, a familiar face who only shows up briefly and delivers one quick line, and is then never spoken of again. Now, director Adam Wingard is shedding some light on some Godzilla vs. Kong deleted scenes that explain what happened here.

Lance Reddick: Professional dog watcher. It’s not a title the John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum actor expected to receive, but it’s one he’s earned regardless over the course of the films in the thrilling neo-noir series starring Keanu Reeves as a former assassin on a bloody rampage.
“I keep being the guy who people say, ‘Hey man, watch my dog while I go kill people,” Reddick joked during /Film’s interview with him at the New York press junket for John Wick: Chapter 3. But no longer. Reddick’s Charon, the phlegmatic concierge of the assassin-housing Continental Hotel gets to unleash his ruthless killer instinct in the third film of the sleek action franchise, fighting alongside Reeves’ titular John Wick. And while he doesn’t know kung fu, Reddick was delighted to finally get out from behind the reception desk and behind the gun.
Reddick talked to /Film all about his character’s evolution through the films, how he prepared for his big action sequence, and just what he thinks about a potential Charon spin-off.

Like many of you, John Wick kicked my ass when it was released in 2014. I went into John Wick: Chapter 2 expecting to be amazed with the fight scenes (which I was), but I has not anticipated that I would walk out of the theater talking about the worldbuilding of this new film. John Wick 3 is already in development, and I’m very excited to see more chapters in this world.
Lets take a look at what may await us in John Wick: Chapter 3, pieced together from interview comments from director Chad Stahelski, screenwriter Derek Kolstad, actor Keanu Reeves, and more.

I’ve become something of a broken record when it comes to John Wick, a movie I’ve watched more times than I could possibly count at the point. You wouldn’t see me putting it on any top 10 of all time lists, but if I was allowed to only rescue a handful of Blu-rays from my burning home, I would grab Chad Stahelski and David Leitch‘s action masterpiece. Yeah, I’ll break out the “m” word for this one.
A new clip from the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 2 has arrived and it gives me a feeling akin to sinking back into a soft, well-used couch. Not because it’s full of head-exploding action (although the final film will be surely full of that), but because it captures the original’s dry sense of humor and finely tuned sense of location and character.

In Faults, talented character actor Leland Orser takes center stage as Ansel Roth, a psychological deprogrammer who has fallen on hard times. When the movie opens, the guy is pretty much at the end of his rope, scamming meals where he can. But an old couple approaches him, requesting aid with their daughter (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who has joined a cult. The four of them hole up in a pair of hotel rooms for a few days in order to bring her back to normal society. The first Faults trailer is out, and it’s a great ride. Read More »
