Superhero Bits: The Avengers, Green Lantern, Man Of Steel, Batman, Joker, Bane

Who can save actor Philip Baker Hall when he stands up against Loki in The Avengers? Is anyone crazy enough to get a tattoo from The Dark Knight Rises a year away from the release date? Why haven't there been any set photos from Christopher Nolan's new film in the past few days? What was it like for Robert Downey Jr. to get his butt kicked in The Avengers? Which vehicle is flying over the Man of Steel set? What extras are on the Green Lantern Blu-ray? Read about all this and much more in this week's final Superhero Bits.

There are almost no words for this. A fan has preemptively gotten a tattoo of Tom Hardy as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. We all think the movie is going to be great but, really? Forever marking your body? It reminds me of the Jar Jar Binks/Seth Rogen joke in Fanboys. (A few people got that.) Thanks to Badass Digest for pointing this out.

Now, imagine that guy got a tattoo of this in 1997? That's Bane from Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin and he made Laser Cola's list of the Top Ten Lamest Superhero Movie Villains.

No, that's not a photo from Tim Burton's Batman. That's Hot Toys brand new 1/6 Jack Nicholson Joker figure. It's amazing, you have to look at all the images. They also have a 1989 Batman figure that's equally amazing. Spending $500 on two dolls is OK, right?

I wasn't aware of this but apparently taking images from the 1960s Spider-Man cartoon and making awkward photos of it is a huge meme. Gamma Squad picked their favorites a few months ago and have just come up with round two. They're pretty hilarious. That one above is one of my favorites.

Nerd Bastards found this cool Avengers fan art from Deviant Artist Ericmaniac. Love the style.

Curious why there hasn't been any Dark Knight Rises set photos recently? Because production was moving from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. Superhero Hype has posted a few photos of the area including this notice which goes up on buildings all over the area alerting them to filming.

Due to the amount of graphics and images included in Superhero Bits, we have to split this post over THREE pages. Click the link above to continue to the second page of Superhero Bits.

I Love Charts posted this Batman chart. What does it mean? Who cares. It's cool.

Speaking of cool, Mondo and Sideshow have teamed up for this insane poster called Super Powers by Tom Whalen based on the DC Universe. I think it's sold out but head over to Sideshow to find out.

This is the 3D Blu-ray box art for Green Lantern thanks to The Daily Blam. Head there to read the full list of extras including an extended cut, documentaries and more.

It's been a week but we're still getting D23 Expo interviews. Some outlets are just slower than others I guess. Anyway, Extra (via CBM) has posted a whole slew of them and at 3:45 you can hear Robert Downey Jr. talk about getting beat up by Thor in The Avengers and much more.

Fashionably Geek really stretch their name by posting these Batman and Superman rings. I mean, I guess there's some kind of audience for these and if it's you, go for it.

According to The Daily What, Steampunk Batman won best cosplay at the recent Baltimore Comic Con.

THERE ARE SPOILERS FROM THE AVENGERS AND MAN OF STEEL ON THE NEXT PAGE.

/Film reader Sean S sent in a bunch of Avengers set photos like the one above. I believe these are of the destruction outside of the German theater where Loki wreaked a little chaos. There are more photos at the above link.

Speaking of that scene, Comic Book Movie got in a very interesting report from an extra on the set. They say that Philip Baker Hall is in The Avengers in a small role, standing up to Loki before Captain America shows up. Here's the a snippet of the report, complete with dialogue. More at the link:

He stands up to Loki and is about to be slaughtered for his bravery, when he is rescued by the timely intervention of a certain patriotic hero. Oh, and here's Cap's full line when he stares down Loki: "The last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everyone else, we ended up disagreeing." Loki: "Ah, the soldier. The man out of time." Cap: "YOU'RE the one who's out of time." This is only part of an exchange I heard a dozen times between Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston.

And, why not, here's a video of the fight between Captain America and Loki on the set of The Avengers thanks to the Daily Blam. The video is pretty terrible but, hey, it's something.

On Location Vacations posted more photos from the Man of Steel set in Illinois. A recent scene included some soldiers and a helicopter.

And then the the Man of Steel Facebook (via CBM) found this photo of Antje Traue, who is playing Faora, on set. Looks pretty menacing. That link also has more photos from the helicopter shoot including Zack Snyder doing his thing.
