Star Wars Episode VII contest

Last year it was reported that  ways to preserve the Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets built in Abu Dhabi are being explored.  As many of you know, sets from George Lucas’ original Star Wars: A New Hope still stand in the deserts of Tunisia, where they have been visited by many fans over the years.

So are the Force Awakens sets still standing in certain parts of the Abu Dhabi desert?  They are not, according to media company Twofour54:

A recent report on the The Huffington Post mistakenly said that the sets used during filming last year were still in place, and could be used for future films in the series or as a tourist attraction. Twofour54 yesterday said that the HuffPost report was incorrect, and that it would be seeking a correction. A spokesman added: “The last thing we want is hordes of tourists driving around getting lost in the desert.”

Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequels, was asked by a fan on twitter if he would be playing the character again on the big screen in a Star Wars Anthology movie standalone film. The Scottish actor insisted that he was not signed for a new Star Wars movie, but that he’s “up for it though.” He added:

I’d like to do the story between Ep 3 and 4. I’d be happy to be back in the cloak

Disney, are you listening? Ewan is willing to return if you need him. I mean, we must see a Obi-Wan Kenobi force ghost at some point in the new films, right?
