Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 In 3D?

David Cohen on Variety's Thompson On Hollywood Blog says that Disney is probably planning to release a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film in Digital Disney 3D. A couple weeks ago super-duper-producer Jerry Bruckheimer told us that screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio are currently finishing up work on The Lone Ranger, before they start work on "the story and plot-lines" for a fourth Pirates film. When asked about the possibility of shooting some sequences of Pirates 4 in IMAX, Bruckheimer seemed enthusiastic about the idea.

But bottom line is, if it does happen, it probably won't be any time soon. But will Pirates 4 be the first franchise film to take the leap and film in live-action 3D? Disney's commitment to the technology is undeniable.
