POTD: 'Star Wars' Collaborators Gareth Edwards And Gary Whitta Meet Darth Vader

If the first six Star Wars movies weren't all about Darth Vader, today's Photo of the Day might be a big reveal. Instead, director Gareth Edwards and writer Gary Whitta simply to Twitter today to reveal they're meeting about their mystery Star Wars spin-off, scheduled for release December 2016, and have a new boss: Lord Vader. Check out the great photo below.

Here's the photo via Whitta's Twitter:

And the original tweet

Props to Whitta for being one of the few Star Wars creatives on Twitter who is actually talking about it. It's surely a very fine line for Disney and Lucasfilm. Though, to be fair, it would have been freaking bad-ass if this photo had Boba Fett or Yoda or someone in it instead of Vader — or something that was a super-obvious hint as to which character they're making a movie about.

Anyway, the Edwards-directed, Whitta-written Star Wars spin-off opens December 16, 2016.
