'Westworld' Actor James Marsden Joins Tarantino's Huge 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' Cast

Another day, another casting announcement for Quentin Tarantino's star-studded Manson Family summer flick Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Westworld actor James Marsden is the latest addition to the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood cast. But who is he playing?

At this rate, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is turning into Quentin Tarantino's Infinity War. The cast is so stacked that I don't even know how Tarantino is going to find room for all of them, but I'm sure he'll do his best. Variety reports that Westworld and Sonic the Hedgehog star James Marsden has just snagged a part in the film, along with young actress Julia Butters.

Variety's Justin Kroll noted on Twitter that while we know who almost every other cast member is playing in the film, there's no word on who Marsden is playing. In fact, the studio asked that Marsden's role not be revealed.

Kroll also points out that it will be a small role, but why all the mystery? Could it be that Marsden is playing Manson? Let's speculate! We know that Charles Manson is going to be in the film in some capacity – the film is set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, with the Manson Family murders lurking in the background. Several figures from Manson's life have already been cast – Burt Reynolds is playing George Spahn, the man who rented his ranch out to Manson, and Dakota Fanning is playing Manson Family disciple Squeaky Fromme. Manson has to figure into the film as a character in some capacity, and Marsden might fit the part. He's a bit older than Manson was at the time – the actor is 44, and Manson was 35. But Marsden has a youthful appearance that might get around that age gap.

Of course, it's also possible that Marsden is playing a completely different character that is being kept secret for plot purposes. Who knows! Julia Butters' part isn't being revealed either, but seeing as she's about 11-years-old, it's safe to assume she's not playing Charles Manson. Unless she is! What a twist!
