Did Judd Apatow STEAL Knocked Up?

Did Judd Apatow STEAL the idea for Knocked Up from a book? Of course not. But that won't stop people from filing frivolous lawsuits (our legal team would like me to note that the following statement is my opinion, and NOT a fact).

A Canadian journalist named Rebecca Eckler says she is suing Universal for stealing her personal tale of an unplanned pregnancy  which she detailed in the book Knocked Up: Confessions of a Hip Mother-to-be. Rebecca claims the similarities don't stop at the film/book's title but also key details in the story. So what is her case? Oh, the father was Jewish just like Seth Rogen's character. Wait, is that all she's got? Eckler thinks that Alison's job as an up-and-coming television reporter is almost an exact copy of her job as an up-and-coming newspaper reporter. Hmmmmm, I don't buy it. For one, being a newspaper reporter means that no one needs to see you. The fact that Allison was an on camera personality in the film was key to the storyline because, well, SHE WAS ON TV!

Eckler admits to CBC.ca that:

"...It's difficult to prove that any other woman who became pregnant by accident wouldn't go through the same things she did in her book, but she said she feels she must speak up."

Um yeah, that's what we thought.
