Coming Soon: 'Slip 'N Slide: The Movie'!

Briefly: Well, that headline may be jumping ahead a step, but the news is this: long-running toy company Wham-O now has an agent. The company just signed with ICM, the same company that has been helping Atari get movies set up at studios. THR says "ICM will now look to package Wham-O's unique products for movies, television, music and online content in the same vein as it did with Atari." Those products include the Frisbee, Hula Hoop, Slip 'N Slide, and Super Ball. (Does that Sony commercial count as a retroactive Wham-O project? Probably not.)

The Hula Hoop, of course, already has an unofficial movie, with Joel and Ethan Coen's The Hudsucker Proxy existing in relationship to the toy very vaguely like The Social Network does for Facebook. Here's what the article mentions that really deserves a movie, however: a do-it-yourself bomb shelter that was created decades ago and never released. Get Spielberg on that one. It could just be Nuke the Fridge: The Movie. Oh, wait. We've already got that one, too.
