Watch Anna Kendrick In A Video For LCD Soundsystem's Song 'Pow Pow'

Looks like MTV likes music videos once more — the company is finally producing them. MEAN Magazine founders have teamed with MTV to create a series of clips called Supervideo that will " tap buzzworthy music, filmmakers and talent in a high voltage expression of art and music." The first effort stars Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air, Scott Pilgrim vs the World) in a video for 'Pow Pow' by LCD Soundsystem. Check it out after the break.

The idea for the video sounds good on paper: Anna Kendrick stars as a deity who "collects the souls of wicked men." In actuality the video is a little bit more like watching Anna Kendrick walking around LA looking good. Which is pretty OK as far as I'm concerned, but it is a shame the story aspect doesn't really pop. Still, there are good images: a version of the Red Room / Black Lodge from Twin Peaks, and the fact that Anna Kendrick rolls with a couple of commandos. And I'm happy to see MTV trying to push music videos again.

David Ayer directs — he wrote Training Day and Dark Blue, and directed Street Kings and is slated to direct the remake of Commando.
