It takes years for animated movies to get made. They start with the most simple of drawings, called storyboards. Animated movies are so meticulously planned that often times the storyboard aren't too far off from what the final shots movie end up looking like, albeit with far more details included in the theatrical cut of the movie. Such is the case with the Frozen 2 musical sequence featuring the song "Into the Unknown," and you can see how the storyboards compare to the final cut.

It's rather impressive to see such simple scribbles turned into a fully rendered animated movie with such meticulous details. Even the facial expressions of the characters are able to achieve so much more in a single image when compared to the storyboards. That's a big part of why it takes so long for animated movies like this to get made.
