The Morning Watch: 'Star Wars' Spin-Offs Honest Trailer, Inappropriate Movie Musicals & More

The Morning Watch is a recurring feature that highlights a handful of noteworthy videos from around the web. They could be video essays, fanmade productions, featurettes, short films, hilarious sketches, or just anything that has to do with our favorite movies and TV shows.

In this edition, Honest Trailers throws some jabs at the worst Star Wars spin-offs, such as the Star Wars Holiday Special. Plus, James Corden turns a few movies into inappropriate musical (yes, that's Dan Stevens as Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver above), and a video essay explores the absurdist philosophy of Charlie Kaufman's film Synecdoche, New York.

First up, Honest Trailers decides to skewer the less than stellar Star Wars spin-offs that preceded Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One. More specifically, they poke fun at the dreadful Star Wars Holiday Special, and the two Ewok movies, Caravan of Courage: The Ewok's Adventure Special and Ewoks Battle of Endor Special.

Next up, The Late Late Show with James Corden turns some movies into musicals that really have no place on the Broadway stage. Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver and John Krasinski's A Quiet Place are turned into musicals with the help of Audra McDonald and Dan Stevens, but the one I disagree with being inappropriate is The Shape of Water. I want to see that musical now.

Finally, if you're a fan of Charlie Kaufman's mind-bending drama Synecdoche, New York, then you might like exploring this video essay that takes a closer look at the absurdist philosophy of the film with an examination of Albert Camus, the famous myth of Sisyphus and more.
