VOTD: 'Do You See What I See?' Horror Short Spills Blood At An Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
Since we're getting pretty close to Christmas, it's a safe bet that you've already attended one ugly Christmas sweater party this year. Sadly, the novelty of those parties has worn out a bit as companies now deliberately manufacture the ugliest sweaters, though it used to be more fun when you'd have to venture out to find one at a local thrift store. So if you've come to loathe these kind of holiday parties, a new holiday horror short that recently hit the web might be for you.
Do You See What I See? is a slasher short film set in the heart of Christmas that finds an ugly Christmas sweater party interrupted by some kind of masked murderer. However, what starts off as just a typical slasher takes a strange turn that feels like it could be easily expanded into a feature film.

Filmmakers Justin McConnell & Serena Whitney have created a stylish short here that has a radical synth score in the same vein as It Follows, but it also has a little bit of a Shaun of the Dead vibe in there as well. However, things take a turn into They Live territory at the very end, reminding me of another horror short film that we featured not too long ago.
Honestly, I'd love to see this concept explored more, but only if they keep the holiday setting. There aren't enough horror movies set at Christmas nowadays, and we could stand to have a little more red to go with the usual green of Christmas, if you know what I mean.
Thanks to io9 for bringing this short to our attention.
