The Final 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Trailer Is The Best One Yet

As a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise, I've been skeptical of whether or not Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them can deliver a quality magical adventure that lives up to the hype of the primary franchise. So far the trailers haven't indicated much about the plot, and they haven't been particularly exciting. But that all changes with the latest Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer. Not only does it take us inside Newt Scamander's (Eddie Redmayne) magical suitcase, but it also shows off some new magical creatures, and gives us a better idea of who the villains turn out to be.

The New Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Trailer

First of all, this is the first time we've ever actually been inside a charmed item that isn't usually meant to have people inside of it, so that's pretty cool. Second of all, it appears that even thought Colin Farrell is working for the Ministry of Magic, he might turn out to be a villain in the movie, a wizard who is sick of having to hide the magical world from the Muggles No-Majs. It appears Ezra Miller may be on his side as well, but we can't be sure.

However, the more intriguing part for longtime fans of Harry Potter will be the mention of the name Grindelwald. Whoever the head of the American government in the wizarding community is says, "This is related to Grindelwald's attacks in Europe." In the Harry Potter books, Grindelwald was one of the most dangerous dark wizards in his time, second only to Lord Voldemort in the history books.

Even more interesting is that there have been hints of Albus Dumbledore appearing somewhere in this movie. The mention of Grindelwald only makes that more likely since the two wizards were once friends, even making a plan to find the Deathly Hallows and become Masters of Death in order to begin a wizarding revolution.

But their relationship ran deeper than friendship as Albus Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, a revelation that J.K. Rowling explained at the same time she revealed Dumbledore was gay. The future Hogwarts headmaster was blinded by his love, and eventually turned on Grindelwald, resulting in a duel that included his brother Aberforth, which in turn caused the death of their sister Ariana.

Could Grindelwald be the primary villain in this new magical franchise? That remains to be seen, but his mention in this trailer is an intriguing one, and now I am fully on board to see how this movie turns out.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them arrives on November 18.
