'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' Gets A Magnificent 35th Anniversary Print By Laurent Durieux

This month, on June 12, fans can celebrate the 35th anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the film that introduced us to archaeologist Indiana Jones and his passion for making sure historical artifacts end up in a museum instead of in the hands of Nazis. In honor of this anniversary, Bottleneck Gallery in New York City has teamed up with Acme Archives for a new Raiders of the Lost Ark print from artist Laurent Durieux. There will be three different editions of the print available for sale on June 2, and you can check them out after the jump.

Here's a look at the Laurent Durieux's Raiders of the Lost Ark print (via io9):

The one on the left is a regular timed edition that will be on sale for $60 starting tomorrow at 12pm ET and will remain on sale until June 5 at 11:59p ET. However many are ordered is how many will be printed. Meanwhile, the variant on the right has a limited edition of 275 and will cost you $80. Each print measures 24x36 inches and is a 15 color screenprint with metallic inks.

However, if you're a huge Raiders of the Lost Ark fan, then you might want to throw down some big bucks to get a special wood version of the regular print with a much more limited edition of 50. That will cost you $275 and the back should look familiar to Indiana Jones fans:

Laurent Durieux is one of my favorite artists that we frequently feature, and I just might have to get my hands on the timed edition of this print. You'll be able to buy all these prints starting tomorrow at 12pm ET at the official Bottleneck Gallery site right here.

Some of the Indiana Jones purists out there may be upset that the title on the print reads "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark," but that's been the official title on home video releases since the film was re-issued on VHS in 1999. The title was changed to line-up with the titles of the films that followed it, even though the title in the film itself remains unchanged from the original.

If these prints aren't enough for your Indiana Jones celebrations, don't forget that the documentary Raiders! The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made is hitting select theaters and VOD on June 17. Plus, the film is going on a nationwide tour with some stops including a double feature that will screen the documentary alongside Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation.
