'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Deleted Scene: Thor And Vision Punch Each Other In The Face A Bunch

I've gone the record many times that I'm a big fan of Avengers: Age of Ultron and will do so again here: I am a big fan of Avengers: Age of Ultron. I like its weird energy and how jam-packed with stuff it is. I love the banter between these characters and I love watching their relationships put through the grinder. Marvel's name may be above the title, but this is a Joss Whedon movie thorough and through – you come out of this shiny, colorful, pop culture extravaganza feeling a little roughed up. It's his way.

Any yet, I'll be the first to admit that it feels like there are pieces of the story missing and important beats excised. This is especially evident on repeat viewings, where you can really start to see unnecessary, studio-mandated scenes (like Thor's dumb cave adventure) butting heads with the stuff that actually matters. A new deleted scene from the film has been revealed as part of that new Marvel Cinematic Universe phase 2 box set and it feels like the kind of thing that really should have been in the final cut... and not just because it's a fight scene between Thor and Vision.

Anyone who has seen Avengers: Age of Ultron will recognize where this scene should have gone. In the final cut, Chris Hemsworth's Thor brings Paul Bettany's Vision to life with his lightning and the android superhero immediately launches into exposition. It turns out that the original version of the film saw Thor and Vision throw down, exchanging blows for a few minutes until everyone realizes that they're among friends. The visual effects aren't finished (which gives the whole thing a charmingly cheap look), but you can watch the scene below:
