'Kung Fu Panda 3' Clip: The Joke Is That Pandas Are Fat
Kung Fu Panda 3 is only two months away from release and you know what that means – a whole new collection of "Pandas are fat!" jokes. Which is perfectly fine, if fat pandas doing fat panda things is your idea of great comedy. There are definitely some of you out there since they've made three of these things.
As we've seen in the previous trailers, the third film in DreamWorks Animation's series will find Jack Black's unlikely (because he's a fat panda) kung fu master reuniting with his long-lost fat panda father, returning to his ancestral fat panda home, and training his fat panda brethren how to kung fu so they can stop an evil villain who is surely going to underestimate an army of fat pandas. A new clip from the film has arrived online and it contains no shortage of fat panda jokes. Hey, if the formula isn't broken...

Here's the Kung Fu Panda 3 clip:
This clip, which finds Po arriving a the Secret Panda Village and meeting members of his own kind for the first time, is cute enough. It's mostly fat panda jokes, but hey, it's hard to argue with over a billion dollars in international grosses between two movies. The world needs, nay, demands their fat panda jokes!
The first Kung Fu Panda was an entertaining enough movie, its sequel diminishing returns, and the third film looks like more of the same. And that's okay. That's fine. Kids are the intended audience for this thing and they're going to eat all of this up like a bowl of perfectly prepared dumplings.
The supporting cast is a murderer's row of talented folks, some returning from the previous films and others new to the series. Among those lending their voices to the film: Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, James Hong, Randall Duk Kim, Bryan Cranston, and J.K. Simmons.
Here is the official synopsis for the film:
In the animated feature film sequel, Po, continuing on his now legendary adventures of awesomeness, must face two hugely epic, but very different threats: one supernatural and the other a little closer to home. When Po's long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!
Kung Fu Panda 3 will open on January 29, 2016.
