Watch A Snarky Breakdown Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Even if you're a fan of Marvel Studios movies since they created their own cinematic universe that began with Iron Man in 2008, there's still some pretty confusing elements that have surfaced throughout the first two phases of these interconnected comic book franchises, especially if you're not a die hard Marvel fan.
Thankfully, YouTube user Garcatch has decided to put together an unhelpful, overly snarky, breakdown of the entire Marvel cinematic universe so far. If you've been watching the Marvel movies so far, you won't find any new information here. But you will find a series of quips trying to describe the motion picture phenomenon in eight minutes.

While some of the commentary is amusing (even if it sounds like it was recorded inside a bathroom stall), I can't help but think the video's creator is oversimplifying certain thoughts here. For example, calling Iron Man a two hour trailer for The Avengers when it's one of the more complete movies that doesn't actually rely on setting up threads for future franchises or sequels (until the infamous credits scene) just doesn't make sense.
And then he proceeds to call every other movie in Phase One a trailer for The Avengers, which is an amusing bit of snark the first time, but then gets old really quickly.
The reality is that most of the movies in the first phase of the cinematic universe really tried to stand on their own without much set up for future films beyond the credits scenes. This attack would have been better saved for just Phase Two, and it would have been far more accurate as we lead up to the two-part sequel The Avengers: Infinity War.
Finally, the commentary on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't exactly accurate, because you really don't need to know what's going on in the ABC series in order to stay up to date on the Marvel cinematic universe. The show doesn't impact anything happening on the big screen at all, and the movies have only had one major impact on the show, thanks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Anyway, this isn't the worst way to catch up on Marvel movies if you like snarky internet commentary. Though it does seem like the creator just wanted to show how funny he can be while talking about the most successful film franchise in history. And I guess it mostly worked, since here we are, talking about it.
