LOL: Sesame Street Crowns A New King Of "Jesteros" In 'Game Of Thrones' Parody

At this point, there's still no telling who'll wind up in control of Westeros at the end of HBO's Game of Thrones. But it takes just five minutes to find out who'll rule over Jesteros, the Sesame Street equivalent.

In an adorable skit, Ned and "Grover Bluejoy" preside over the "Game of Chairs" to decide on the kingdom's next king or queen. It doesn't go quite as planned – but then again, neither did the plans for succession on the real Game of Thrones. Watch the Game of Thrones Sesame Street parody after the jump.

Sesame Street debuted this hilarious counting lesson / Game of Thrones parody.

The Game of Chairs will determine who will be king or queen of Jesteros. Four players will march around three chairs while music plays until one remains. Who will take the crown in this game of musical chairs? Robb, Cersie, Joffrey, Daeneyrus or....?

The contrast between Game of Thrones' ultra-violent, ultra-sexy Battle of the Five Kings and Sesame Street's sweet little musical chairs game is vast, and the video does a great job of mining it for humor. The clip is packed to the brim with cute, kid-friendly references to horrible things that have happened on the show, like the Red Wedding, or the Purple Wedding, or Ned's execution.

On the one hand, musical chairs seems like a laughably stupid way to pick a new ruler (even for a kingdom called "Jesteros"); on the other, this method looks way less expensive, way less time-consuming, and way, way less bloody than the route the actual Westerosi chose. Maybe the Balon Greyjoy and Ned Stark could actually learn a thing or two from their puppet counterparts.

The real Game of Thrones — the TV-MA one with all the blood and boobs — returns to HBO for its Season 5 premiere this Sunday, April 12.
