Cool Stuff: Hot Toys Guardians Of The Galaxy Star-Lord Sixth Scale Figure
Sideshow Collectibles sent me a sample of Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord Sixth Scale Figure. Lets unbox this figure and take a look at whats inside the box. Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the hottest movies of 2014, and now hot Toys is starting to release their sixth scale collectible figures from the Marvel Studios film. I'm excited to check out Star-Lord but personally more looking forward to the releases of Rocket and Groot (am I right?).

The figure comes with a beautifully sculpted head by Yong Kyu, Kim featuring the scary authentic and detailed likeness of Chris Pratt from the movie, complete with hand-painted "movie-accurate facial expression with detailed wrinkles, skin texture and beard" with a paint job designed by JC. Hong. The figure also comes with an interchangeable masked head sculpt with LED red light-up function (battery operated), so you can choose to have your Star-Lord mashed or unmasked.
As with most of the Hot Toys collection, the 12-inch figure body comes with over 30 points of articulations, allowing you to pose Star-Lord in almost any position physically imaginable. Hot Toys have also included five interchangeable gloved palms including a pair of fists, a pair of palms for holding guns and a right palm for holding the orb found in the temple at the beginning of the film. You can equip Star-Lord with one or two of his blasters, or leave them holstered to his belt.
Star-Lord's costume includes a light blue tee, red long coat with distressed effect, a pair of gray pants and brownish red boots with boosters (as seen in the film's opening sequence). He also comes with a few removable accessories including his sling backpack, his signature 1980's portable audio cassette player with headset and of course the plasma orb I mentioned earlier.
Everything from the clothing to the accessories is extremely detailed. You can see the burn and wear on the bottom of Star-Lord's coat. My only complaint is that I wish they had made the headphones detachable from the cassette player as its not easy to have them displayed on his belt without having the headset on his head.
And the figure comes with a figure stand with a Star-Lord nameplate and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie logo.
