Rumor: Batman's Second Suit Has Unique Powers In 'Batman V Superman'; Plus A Second Batmobile

Some very cool, and very plausible Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice rumors are circulating this week. They both concern Batman, whose whole entry into the new DC Multiverse is bathed in shadow. We do know he has two Batsuits in the film. The one in the above photo as well as the Bat Armor revealed in the Comic-Con teaser (you can read about that here). What we don't know is exactly what the Bat-Armor does. A new rumor adds some exciting, but very spoilery details to our understanding of it, however.

The same source also reports Batman has not one, but two Batmobiles in the film. That would be a first. Below, read more about each of these Batman v Superman rumors.

All the rumors come from Batman News, which is generally reliable. They have a source who talked to Rehan Jalali, Ben Affleck's trainer in the film, who told him a few details. Like I said, these all sound plausible but are unconfirmed:

  • There are two Batsuits (we've seen them both before — he has a traditional Batsuit, and an armored Batsuit like in "The Dark Knight Returns").
  • The armored suit has Kryptonite all over it, and it can shoot missiles.
  • There are two Batmobiles.
  • Affleck has a shirtless scene as Bruce Wayne to show off his new physique.
  • The shirtless scene is beautifully shot and shows Affleck overlooking a destroyed city (probably Metropolis?).
  • We'll take these one at a time. First up is the armored suit. Obviously, it was going to need some upgrades. Superman is literally the strongest being imaginable so no amount of metal was going to stop him. Now, metal infused with kryptonite? That's cool. But how is kryptonite discovered in the film? As for missiles, Iron Man shoots missiles. That's standard superhero stuff. But it's a stretch for the usually defensive, reactive Batman.

The two Batmobiles is also a bit surprising. We know Bruce is older so it would make sense he has more than one vehicle in the garage, but what purpose would the second one serve? A replacement for a crushed version perhaps? It seems possible one Batmobile (the one we've seen) is the new one and gets destroyed in battle. Then maybe Bruce has to go back to an old model in the film. That's pure speculation though.

Then there's the shirtless thing. If that's true, that sounds like something from the beginning of the movie, where Bruce Wayne heads to Metropolis to help clean up.

What do you think of these Batman v Superman rumors? Any additional speculation?
