Guardians Of The Galaxy Concept Art Shows Unused Gamora And Nebula Character Designs

Earlier this month, we showed you some Guardians of the Galaxy concept art which revealed Star-Lord's comic book origins, as well as very different looking concept designs for Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora, Drax and Star-Lord. Now concept artist Andy Park shares his early designs for Zoe Saldana's Gamora and Karen Gillan's Nebula from James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, which look very different than what we saw in the final film. Hit the jump to see Park's unused Gamora and Nebula character designs.

Firs off, here is Andy Parks' Star Wars/Mad Max concept painting of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, which he created at the start of the project:

I have to admit, I really prefer Andy Park's tattooed Gamora design than the design we saw in the finished film. Of course, I'm sure the make-up required for such a design would have taken a lot of work to apply. Sure, Dave Bautista was willing to sit 5 hours a day in the make-up chair, but a more accomplished actor like Zoe Saldana might not have been up for that task and had very different priorities when approaching her character's look.
