Here Are Potential 'Ant-Man' Cameos Linking It To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

After years of anticipation and months of controversy, Peyton Reed's Ant-Man starts filming on Monday, August 18. Then it'll be a race to the finish as the director will have less than a year to complete the film, which is set for release July 17, 2015. That doesn't leave a lot of time for improvisation, but in between Edgar Wright leaving the project and the start of shooting, a lot of work has been done to change the film and also add more connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Latino Review now reports on a few characters which will potentially cameo in the film, connecting Ant-Man to the larger world both in the movies and on TV. Read about the Ant-Man cameos below.

Beware of spoilers from here on out.

Here's what Latino Review says about the Ant Man cameos:

In earlier drafts of the script, Hank Pym in the first act prologue has a meeting at S.H.I.E.L.D and meets up with Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, Armin Zola, and here is a cool one...a young Alexander Pierce.

Now, here's the big grain of salt with this sentence. That's from the earlier drafts of the script. Since then, Peyton Reed has done work on the script, Adam McKay did a pass and Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari are on set to do re-writes. So who knows if the structure is same, let alone the MCU connections.

Moving past that, we've heard for a long time the film opens with the Hank Pym prologue. And linking him to the beginnings of S.H.I.E.L.D., teased in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Agent Carter short, and soon to air Agent Carter TV show, seems like a simple link. That automatically sets the Ant-Man story into the MCU without having to deal with the after shocks of what's happened in the other films. It also helps gives the period show Agent Carter a nice theatrical link, something it likely won't get on a story basis from Avengers: Age of Ultron. (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., however, should be pretty heavily impacted by that film.)

Personally, I buy this, but we won't know for about 11 months or so. Do you think we'll see Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones and...a new actor to play a young Robert Redford in Ant-Man?
