'Batman V Superman' Rumors: Lex's New Look And Tao Okamoto's Role
Rumors have surrounded Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice from the get-go, and today we have three more to share. One has to do with Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, who will apparently not be sporting the traditional chrome dome. The others have to do with actresses Tao Okamoto and Holly Hunter, and whom they might be playing in the film. Hit the jump for all the latest dirt.
Additionally, the source says Eisenberg's Luthor "has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day." (Sounds like Peter was spot-on when he pointed out that "Lex Luthor today would be more Mark Zuckerberg, less Bill Gates.") However, the scenes being shot apparently take place near the beginning of the film, so it's still possible Lex winds up bald by the end.
As for Hunter and Okamoto, no details were given about their roles when they were cast in April. There was a rumor floating around recently that pegged Hunter's character as "Leslie Thompkins, or a Leslie Thompkins replacement character," but now the word is that she'll be a U.S. senator.
Meanwhile, ComicBook.com has heard that Okamoto will play Lex Luthor's assistant Mercy. The character originated on Superman: The Animated Series in 1996, but has since been introduced in the comics as well. Intelligent, cunning, and skilled in combat, she also serves as Lex's personal bodyguard and right-hand woman.
Neither Hunter nor Okamoto's parts have officially been revealed by the studio. For that matter, nor has Lex's new 'do. All of the above should be taken with a big grain of salt. But assuming there's some truth to these reports, what do you think? Is Lex's sandy hair an interesting reinvention, or utter sacrilege? Are you looking forward to Okamoto's take on Mercy?
