Watch 'Star Wars 7' Star Daisy Ridley In The Short Film 'Blue Season'

Daisy Ridley, one of the new stars of Star Wars Episode VII, is the most unknown of the group. In fact, she's almost a total mystery to most people, as she has precious few credits to her name. One of those credits, however, is a short thriller called Blue Season. Produced out of London as part of a short film competition, the five-minute film features only two actors. One is Daisy Ridley, and those curious about what JJ Abrams sees in the young woman may want to spend five minutes with the film.

What you'll find below is a story in which Sarah (Ridley) awakens to find herself restrained, upside down, in a locked room. But she takes a phone call (somehow), and is connected to a man (Kenneth Jay) outside who seems like he's willing to help.

This film was made as part of the Sci-Fi London 48-Hour Film Challenge. For those who've never taken part in a setup like that (it's fun! you should!) the basics are simple: you get a few people together, show up to a meeting on Friday night to get some specific constraints for the story and characters, and then have until Sunday night to turn in a film. So the stuff that comes out of these challenges isn't always super-polished, but the energy of doing it is great to experience.Worth noting: Godzilla director Gareth Edwards' directorial career has its roots in this particular festival. Together with Daisy Ridley's current trajectory you've got two good examples of how seemingly minor beginnings can lead to big things. Never forget: the best way to become successful making films is just to make films, no matter how small they may seem at the time.
