'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' TV Spot Brings The Action
The mutants are stopping by your TV on their way to the theater. Fox has released the first X-Men: Days of Future Past TV spot, with all the action, excitement, and grave-yet-vague voiceover narration you can cram into 30 seconds.
The Bryan Singer-directed sequel weaves together the First Class and original trilogy casts, as the older versions of the X-Men find themselves in danger. In an effort to save themselves, they send one of their own back in time to join forces with the younger X-Men and alter the future. Watch the video after the jump.
The TV spot doesn't really bother to explain the plot, unless you count Charles's musings about the future and unity and all that. But that shouldn't matter to X-Men fans, who were likely intrigued the moment they realized what iconic comic book storyline the movie was based on.
Meanwhile, for everyone else, there are quick glimpses of many famous and beloved stars including Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence. There's surprisingly little Peter Dinklage, though. You'd think they'd want to capitalize on his popularity, what with the Game of Thrones Season 4 premiere just around the corner.
And fans and non-fans alike should be able to enjoy all the action. There isn't much in the way of new footage, but there are Sentinels flying through the air, women jumping out of windows, and men bursting into fire.
X-Men: Days of Future Past lands in theaters May 23. Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, and many, many, many others also star.
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from "X-Men: First Class," in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future.
