Star Wars Bits: David Prowse, Instagram, 'Star Wars: Rebels', And Han Solo's Blaster

It's possible that Katee Sackhoff is just saying this particular reveal has nothing to do with Episode VII, but she'd probably let the Star Wars rumors continue to swirl if there were any truth to them. Right? [via Nerd Bastards]
Though David Prowse hasn't been in a Star Wars movie since 1983, he wouldn't mind returning for Episode VII "in some shape or form." "Unfortunately, I got killed off in VI, so there's no hope for Darth Vader," he said. "But with a bit of luck there could be another possible role for me in the movie, because you know, I was never seen facially."
"I could play the handsome hero," he added, laughing. Ultimately, though, he admits that he'd rather "stay on the dark side." "I don't like playing goodies, I want to play the baddie. I love playing baddies. They're much more fun," he said.

Having debuted at the Montréal Science Centre last year before moving on to Edmonton and Ottawa, the Star Wars Identities exhibit is now ready to embark on the European leg of its international tour. The exhibition will be at Paris' La Cité du Cinéma from February 15 to June 30, 2014.
Additional cities on the continent will be announced shortly. The event will also stop by Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific region during its twelve-city, six-year tour. [StarWars.com]
Got $200,000 and an abiding love for outer space scoundrels? You may be the lucky fan who gets to own one of Han Solo's most treasured personal effects. Invaluable.com is auctioning off the modified DL-44 blaster used by the character in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
More specifically, the official description explains, this non-firing version of the blaster was shown "when Darth Vader uses the Force to lasso the blaster out of Han's hand in Empire, and in Jedi when Han wrestles with a Stormtrooper to regain possession of his blaster during the Rebels' encounter with Imperial forces on Endor."
The piece goes on sale December 21 and is expected to fetch something between $200,000 and $300,000. In comparison, Luke Skywalker's lightsaber sold for $240,000 in 2008. [via The Guardian]
Although Star Wars 1313 was unfortunately cancelled earlier this year, fans may soon have another open-world game to look forward to. Vancouver's EA Canada is looking for a designer to work on "a major new next gen action game," revealed on Twitter by an EA recruiter to be a Star Wars title.
What's unclear is whether EA Canada is working on a new game entirely, or whether they're referring to the project already in development. After EA struck a ten-year deal to develop and publish Star Wars games, subdivision DICE announced Star Wars: Battlefront while subdivision Visceral Arts started working on another, as yet unnamed title. Last week, we got word that Disneyland was halting its plans for a Star Wars land due to the high costs of their NextGen park program. Now a newer report backs up the claim that Disney is pumping the brakes — but for an entirely different reason.
According to an anonymous source who spoke with TheForce.net, NextGen and Imagineering have separate budgets which shouldn't affect each other. Instead, the individual said, "They didn't want to build attractions/a land without including the new movies. So since the teams don't have a final script they can't add anything from the new movies."
Which makes perfect sense, we suppose, but doesn't do much to lessen the disappointment that Star Wars land is coming later rather than sooner. [TheForce.net]
We don't know what to expect from Episode VII and know even less about what to expect from the EA Vancouver's game or Disneyland's Star Wars park, but at least we have a good grasp on what's coming our way with Star Wars: Rebels.

Kim Gromoll's "The Lesson" depicts the famous Dagobah training scene from The Empire Strikes Back; "The Puppet Master" by William Silvers shows an epic lightsaber battle under Palpatine's creepy visage; and the endearing "Wookiee Family Portrait" by Maya Gohill is exactly what it sounds like.

Add "taking selfies" to the list of things Darth Vader is good at. The Sith Lord's very first self-portrait, as unveiled on the official Star Wars Instagram page, is perfectly framed, though it's not exactly clear how he's navigating the iPhone touch screen through his thick leather gloves. The Force, I suppose.
Vader is still pretty new to Instagram — the account launched just this week — but we expect much more fun stuff coming down the line from him and his team.
