Daniel Radcliffe Ponders 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Cameo

Warner Bros. recently announced J.K. Rowling is writing a new movie based in the world of Harry Potter. It's called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and will be set several decades before Potter's story begins. One would assume, then, actor Daniel Radcliffe would not be appearing in the films. That doesn't stop people from asking him about it, though, and Radcliffe revealed he's thought about how his character could return.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe admitted he's in the same boat as most of us. He knows very little about the upcoming films and actually first heard about them from a reporter:

"I don't think I'm going to be coming back," he said. "We can't be doing these characters when we're 40, so there has to be a line drawn." Having worked with Rowling for the better part of his life though, he didn't rule out anything. "I never know what Jo [Rowling] is going to write, but at the moment I'm in the same position that everyone else is in — waiting to hear what information is coming out because I don't know anything about these new films."

He then added there's only one way his character could possibly return:

If time travel rears its head again, I'll be intrigued to see what she does.

Time travel does exist in the Potter universe. Hermione Granger used a Time Turner to help get through he heavy class schedule in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. However, those were only short trips. I sincerely doubt Radcliffe, Emma Watson or Rupert Grint will be back for these new films. If time travel was possible back in the Fantastic Beasts timeline, wouldn't Voldemort or Dumbledore have considered using it?

Which characters might we see younger versions of in these films? Dumbledore? McGonagall?
