Michael Bay Wants To Make A Horror Film

Briefly: Michael Bay has been part of quite a few horror films, thanks to his controlling interest in Platinum Dunes, and there are those who would say that he's already directed a few horror movies, thanks to some of the response to, say, the Transformers movies.

Bay's most recent forays into horror were The Purge, which he produced with Jason Blum, and the upcoming Almanac, which is a found-footage project. And it sounds like the experience might push Bay's interest towards directing his own small horror. THR recently named Bay a "master of horror" (which is weird, but whatever) and the director said, "I have a great fantasy — that I will probably make a reality — of directing my own self-financed horror movie."

It's not difficult to imagine Bay going down a path where he makes a big movie, then a smaller Pain & Gain type film, then another big one. And for those smaller in-between movies, I'd really like to see what he could do with horror as a director, especially on a relatively small budget.
