'Skyfall' Behind The Scenes Video Explores Opening Action Sequence

If you don't want to know anything about where some of the footage from Skyfall, the latest James Bond film, fits into the narrative, it's best to skip this behind the scenes video. Because this is the one where director Sam Mendes talks about shooting the film's opening pre-credits action sequence. In doing so, he places quite a bit of the footage we've seen so far, and explains what's really going on. For those who want to know more now than later, hit the jump for the video.

Additionally, via The Film Stage, date from Empire Cinemas reports a 145-minute runtime for Skyfall, which is just about the length of Casino Royale and quite a bit longer than Quantum of Solace. (Which has felt a good bit longer than its 106-minute runtime both times I've seen it, even despite the parts of the movie I really like.)

Skyfall is Daniel Craig's third turn as Bond (with two more to come) and also features Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and Ola Rapace. It opens October 26th in the UK and other countries, and on November 9th in the States.

In Skyfall, Bond's loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
