VOTD: Kevin Feige Gives A Tour Of 'The Avengers' Props

There are several take aways from Marvel's The Avengers: the excitement, the humor and how you'd like to own every single prop that's in the movie. Pieces like Thor's hammer, Cap's shield, Hawkeye's bow and Loki's staff are so iconic, owning one would be the crown jewel of any collection. And while companies do make authentic prop replicas of these items, and will continue to do so, there's something to be said about the actual screen-used props. When these one-of-a-kind items are done in front of the camera, most of them get put into storage for use in future movies or possibly toured around the country at comic convention or museums.

For The Avengers, Disney's D23 fan club has put all these items on display for you in a video tour featuring Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Check out below.

Here's the official Avengers episode of the D23 feature: Armchair Archivist.

According to the comments on YouTube, this video might have been shot at USC but I can't find confirmation of that. However, I'm sure most of them will be on display at Disney's flagship theater, the El Capitan in Hollywood through June 22 with The Avengers playing there. After that? Who knows.

Personally, if I could have one prop from The Avengers – an inanimate prop – it would be Thor's hammer. Out of everything that actually exists in the movie, it seems like the most fun to play with. Plus it's iconic. A Mark VII suit is a little big and bulky (and largely digital), plus you can't do anything with it. The Cap shield can't really do what it's supposed to do, but Mjolnir is a hammer no matter what.

What about you?
