Exclusive Featurette: On Set With The Muppets

Disney continues to go all-out with promos for The Muppets, which opens on November 23. We've seen parody trailers, a great soundtrack album and even a campaign to get the Muppets to host the Oscars. (Some efforts for which come from outside Disney, but some of the Muppet Oscar push might just be a Disney thing.)

This is no guarantee of a Muppet Oscars, but we can offer you an exclusive look at a featurette that pokes fun at the typical 'behind the scenes' fluff piece. There are some characteristic Muppet moments here, specifically with respect to the fact that some of the characters are making the movie as well as starring in it. I've always enjoyed the 'let's put on a show' aspect of the original episodes of The Muppet Show, and it's good to see anything that brings the characters back to those roots. Of course they're the ones making the movie! Check out the short featurette below.

Here's the official plot description:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, "The Muppets" hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.
