In Case You Were Still Wondering, Aaron Eckhart Is Not In 'The Dark Knight Rises'
The news routine on The Dark Knight Rises has lately been more about what isn't in the movie than what is. For example, there was the recent ridiculous rumor about Heath Ledger's Joker returning via outtakes and CGI, which director Christopher Nolan and producer Emma Thomas quickly shot down.
And now we know for sure, end of story, that Aaron Eckhart isn't in the film, either. (This has been a subject of speculation even though all evidence says, yes, Two-Face is dead.) Don't feel too out of the loop if you thought it was possible for him to appear. Even he wasn't sure until he asked Mr. Nolan.
The actor told MTV,
Chris and I had a meeting, on the beach, just the two of us. I said, 'Chris, a lot of people are asking me if I'm in the next 'Batman.' And Chris said, 'Yes?' I said, 'Am I?' He looked at me and he said, 'No.'
Sad to hear that? So was Aaron Eckhart. "I was heartbroken," he says. "But Chris has his reasons and my life must go on." It's difficult to tell to what degree the actor is messing around with that statement, but take it as you will. Here's the video so you can interpret his tone for yourself.
