Complete Grindhouse DVD/Blu-Ray Coming Soon?
As you probably know, when Grindhouse was released in theaters, it was a double feature featuring Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, and a few faux trailers at the beginning and in between. When the films were released on DVD, they were distributed as separate movies, with the trailers omitted from both releases (with the exception of Machete). It looks like a complete Grindhouse release is finally being prepped for DVD/Blu-ray.
Edgar Wright, who directed one of the faux trailers for a film titled "Don't" tweeted today:
So, get this, tomorrow I am doing a commentary on 'Don't'. Some of you will know what that means is finally happening.
DVD releases are usually done in conjunction with another movie or home video release, but I can't see a tie-in on this one unless the Weinstein's are planning to release this the same week as the Rodriguez-produced Predators sequel hits home video.
Update: it has since occurred to me that a better tie-in would be the theatrical or dvd release of MAchette, a film which began as a trailer on the Grindhouse release.
