Movie Trailer: Studio Ghibi's The Borrower Arrietty

Studio Ghibi has released a trailer for The Borrower Arrietty, their Japanese anime adaptation of Mary Norton's fantasy novel The Borrowers. The movie tells the story of 14-year-old Arrietty, who lives in peaceful anonymity with the rest of the Clock family, as "they make their own home from items "borrowed" from the house's human inhabitants. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty."

The film will mark the directorial debut of animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who will become the youngest person to direct a film for Ghibli. Studio founder Hayao Miyazaki oversaw the production. Watch the trailer embedded after the jump, and please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

The film will be released in Japan on July 17th 2010.
