WTF: Website Claims Ghostbusters 3 Is Already Filming In NYC
Earlier today I got a tweet from Erik Davis of Cinematical fame laughing about a secret website called GhostSpy which claims to have footage from the set of Ghostbusters 3.
Yes, they are shooting it already. And yes, I am part of the crew. And no, I won't tell any details. Because if I do and they find out, they will kill me.
Problem is, as far as we know – Ghostbusters 3 hasn't been given the greenlight and is still in the process of screenplay development. But the footage does show a big film production in New York City, and a scene where they crush a Taxi Cab which has a 555-phone number on the side.
There is also another video of some early effects shot of some kind of creature, who is made out of a collage of trash (think Katamari Damacy).
I have no doubt this is fake, as it's just too perfect to be real. But now I'm curious to what it might actually be. Sony just announced that Ghostbusters is being released on Blu-ray in mid-June, along with the new Atari video game. Is there any chance that this footage is from the production of a commercial for the game/blu-ray release? And this is just a viral to get fans excited and talking? If anyone has any information as to what this is all about, please shoot me an e-mail.
