Babylon A.D. Graffiti Ads
What happens when a movie studio has no money to promote a crappy movie? I'm in Colorado right now on the beginning leg of my 28 Days of Film adventure, but back home in San Francisco, the sidewalks around the city have been vandalized, apparently by 20th Century Fox. Curbed took a photo of one of the Babylon A.D. sidewalk advertisements (seen above). I wonder if Fox actually got permission from the city to spray-paint these viral street ads all over the city. I'm guessing not...
Apparently NBC/Universal did a simular promotion for USA Network's The 4400. At first they denied involvement, blaming excited fans, but they were eventually fessed up. They were forced to pay fines of a couple hundred dollars per site.
