On any given Saturday, you can flick on the TV and witness bloated, aged rock stars spinning self-mythologizing yarns. Bad designer sunglasses, ridiculous hair extensions, and orange skin are a must, and toss on a runny dollop of eyeliner to impress today's Guitar Heroes. Thankfully, next year sees the release of a feature-length documentary on Lemmy, the 60something frontman of Motörhead...with the 60something Belial on his cheek.
Directed by Greg Olliver and music journalist Wes Orshoski, Lemmy: The Movie, proposes that the film's subject is the most substantial rocker/lifer of his generation and maybe ever, complete with testimonials and endorsements from Slash, Ozzy, The Clash's Mick Jones, drunken hooligans and the guy who started Foo Fighters. Slashfilm would like to propose that Lemmy was born with a drink in his hand, not unlike comedian Neil Hamburger. Lemmy also warrants his own Internet show where he can spew filthy jokes like the blood diamond at this end of this trailer.
Lemmy: The Movie (nice title) opens TBA 2009.Discuss: Who rocks to the nth more than Lemmy?
